Project Description
BEATLES MONTHLY ISSUE 60

Five years old! In “Revolution Report” Frederick James looks at how the new single was recorded. Hunter Davies gives the background to his writing the Beatles biography and what inspired him. “Behind the Spotlight” takes us back to July ‘66, playing to record audiences in Manila and Japan. Plus photos of Paul at Mike McGear’s wedding.
Centre: Full colour John.

Meanwhile…
In July, more recording and mixing of tracks for the White Album. The premiere of Yellow Submarine is at the London Pavilion, attended by all of the Beatles. The 28th July is the “Mad Day Out”, when they shoot a variety of publicity shots around London with photographer Don McCullin. The Apple Boutique, a financial disaster, closes at the end of the month, with the remaining stock given away.

Another reprint that is hard to separate from the original just by the cover. All the photos inside are cropped, particularly noticeable on this photo of George, if you look at the shadow on the right. Looks like he was enjoying himself, anyway.
