Project Description
BEATLES MONTHLY ISSUE 58

This issue features the Beatles in India, with Mal tells the story of the visit to the Maharishi’s Academy of Meditation and the magazine includes plenty of photos of their time there. There is a preview of Hunter Davies’ soon-to-be published biography of the Beatles. “Behind the Spotlight” is in May ‘66, when there had been talk of a third Beatles film…

From this issue, the full cover cover and centre spread become regular features.
Centre: Full colour group photo, including Donovan, the Maharishi and others (see below).
Meanwhile…
In May, John and Paul travel to New York to promote Apple. John and Yoko record Two Virgins at John’s Weybridge home, while Cynthia was on holiday in Greece. The first demos for what would be the “White Album” were made a George’s home in Esher this month.

Original
Like all later issues, it is fairly easy to tell the reprints by cropping of photos, both inside and out. The centre page spread should include Cynthia’s elbow, which should not be cut off as in this reprint.
