Project Description
BEATLES MONTHLY ISSUE 48

Mal Evans tells of his trip to the States with Paul the previous April. There’s comment about Paul’s U.K. “TV statement” following his comments in Life magazine about his taking LSD. A full transcript of the TV interview is reprinted in this issue. In “Behind the Spotlight” we are back in July 65, when they toured Italy and the film Help had its preview. In “Beatles Dinner Party” DJ Kenny Everett tells about the Sgt Pepper launch party at Brian Epstein’s home.
And oops! Who wrote Taxman, Johnny?

Meanwhile…
In July, All You Need Is Love, recorded during the Our World live transmission in June, is released. The Beatles put their name to, and help finance, a campaign to legalise cannabis. They spend time in Greece, considering a plan to buy a Greek island, but it comes to nothing.

Not easy to separate original from reprint here. The lower edge of the back cover photo is more detailed on an original book.
