In February much time is spent in the studio, recording and mixing tracks for Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The double A-sided Strawberry Fields For Ever / Penny Lane is released, their first Parlophone single to be issued in a picture sleeve, it peaks at No 2 in the charts.
