Project Description

Beatles Book Calendar 1964

Advertised in the Beatles Monthly in the run up to Christmas 1964 it comprises a page for each month plus front and back covers. Each month there’s a photo, the monthly calendar (Beatle birthdays are highlighted, of course), a themed sketch by Bob Gibson and some nonsense about star signs. Spiral-bound, originally with a black or red wire spiral.

It was a big seller, so quite easy to find one now. I just wonder why they didn’t make another.

It has been found in a particularly attractive presentation folder, shown below. The calendar is bound with white wire. It is likely this was for sale overseas and is not from 1964, but it’s just too nice not to have.

The calendar was officially reprinted in 2015 to accompany the first, limited edition, of Looking Through You, an archive of rare and unseen photos from the Beatles Book archive (see elsewhere in EXTRAS). These reprints were not spiral bound.
